Our list is far from comprehensive, but here are a few Theatrical Organizations and Association, and Local Theatre Listings we find indispensable. • MadStage   An excellent resource of theatrical goings-on in Madison, Wisconsin, this site features a thorough and up-to-date list of local theatres and performance information, employment listings, free ticket giveaways, and a great links page.

 

THEATRical associations

• The American Association of Community Theatre (AACT) is the national voice of community theatre, representing the interests of its members and over 7,000 theatres across the U.S. and with the armed forces overseas.

• The Educational Theatre Association is a professional organization for teachers of theatre and theatre professionals at all levels.

• Professional Lighting and Sound Association (PLASA)  PLASA is the lead international membership body for those who supply technologies and services to the event, entertainment and installation industries. As a pro-active trade association, it looks after the interests of its members and seeks to influence business practices and skills development across the industry.

• The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE)  Chartered in 1893, IATSE is a labor union representing over 80,000 members in entertainment and related industries throughout the UnitedStates and Canada.

• United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT), established in 1960, with headquarters in Syracuse, New York, is an association of design, production, and technology professionals in the performing arts and entertainment industry.
